Cookie Policy

Last updated: 22 March 2025  ·  Effective from: 22 March 2025

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to website owners.

Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — these work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy.

2. Our approach: minimal by design

CooperStays is built with privacy in mind. We use as few cookies as possible. In particular:

  • We use Plausible Analytics for site analytics — Plausible is a cookieless tool that does not track you across sites and does not collect personal data. No consent is required for Plausible under GDPR.
  • We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other advertising trackers.
  • We do not sell data to advertisers.

This table reflects cookies set as of the effective date. Third-party providers may update their cookies — refer to their privacy policies for the most current list.

4. Strictly necessary cookies

Cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to function (such as Stripe's fraud-prevention cookies during payment) do not require your consent under GDPR. These cannot be switched off. If you block them via your browser, parts of the Site (such as the payment flow) may not work.

5. No cookie banner — and why

You may have noticed we do not display a cookie consent banner. This is intentional: because we do not use any cookies that require consent under GDPR (no advertising, no non-anonymised analytics, no non-essential tracking), a banner is not required. We believe this is a better experience for you and reflects our commitment to privacy.

6. How to manage cookies

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • See what cookies are stored and delete them individually.
  • Block third-party cookies.
  • Block all cookies from specific sites.
  • Block all cookies (note: this may break some site features).

Guidance for popular browsers:

7. Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, external booking systems or social media). These sites have their own cookie policies for which we are not responsible. We recommend reviewing those policies when you visit.

8. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new technologies or third-party services. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
